I am James Fredrick Menefield, a registered Legal Document Assistant in Los Angeles County and a litigation paralegal on appellate, civil, criminal, and post-conviction matters.
I spent more than three decades incarcerated. During that time I studied law, ran law library services, and helped people prepare their own filings. That experience showed me how much a person's future can depend on paperwork that is accurate, complete, and on time.
Today I hold a paralegal certificate from [Blackstone Career Institute, year], and I am completing a B.A. in Liberal Studies at California State University, Los Angeles. I also serve as Director of Reintegration Services at the Restoration & Resilience Alliance, a nonprofit focused on restorative justice and community reentry.
My work is guided by three commitments: dedication, integrity, and superior quality. When you work with me, you get patient explanations of the process, honest answers about what I can and cannot do, and careful preparation of every document.
